Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and blockchain payment company Ripple have made significant donations to the pro-crypto super PAC Fairshake. According to Bloomberg, Coinbase has contributed $24.5 million to the PAC, while its CEO Brian Armstrong personally donated $1 million. This totals approximately one-third of Fairshake’s $85 million funding to date. Ripple has also donated $20 million, and two venture capital firms, Andreessen Horowitz and Electric Capital, have contributed $20 million and $500,000 respectively. More details about Fairshake’s donors will be disclosed in an upcoming filing with the U.S. Federal Election Commission. The super PAC supports politicians from both major parties who are pro-cryptocurrency, though it has slightly favored Democratic candidates thus far.
