In Kazakhstan, in the case of crypto exchangers, the property of a Russian citizen was arrested

 

The Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (AFM) reported that in January, “illegal entrepreneurial activities of a group of persons with digital assets through crypto exchange points” were suppressed in Kostanay region.

Investigators found out that a citizen of the Russian Federation was involved in entrepreneurial activity, who from July 2020 to January 2023 received income on an especially large scale in the amount of more than 180 million tenge (about $397,000).

According to the court order, the real estate of the suspect was seized in the amount of 85 million tenge (about $187,000), including crypto assets placed on the platform of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange.

Earlier, the media of Kazakhstan reported that after the signing of a new package of laws regulating the cryptocurrency industry by the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a procedure for the mandatory sale of 75% of mined assets is introduced for mining companies.
