‘Parallel’ Ethereum Game Studio Reveals Shooter on Base Network B3

‘Parallel’ Ethereum Game Studio Unveils Shooter Game on B3 Network

Parallel Studios, the creators of the Ethereum NFT card game Parallel, have announced their latest project—a 3D first-person shooter game known as “Project Tau Ceti.” The game was revealed at Token2049 in Singapore and will allow players to battle on a sci-fi planet using their Parallel NFT avatars. Unlike their upcoming game Colony, which will be launched on the Solana blockchain, Project Tau Ceti will be built on Coinbase’s Ethereum layer-2 network Base, specifically on the newly launched B3 layer-3 gaming network. The decision to choose B3 was based on its technology and team experience, making it the ideal choice for Parallel Studios. B3.fun, the platform for the B3 network, was launched in August after receiving a $21 million investment round from NFC Labs. Parallel is a popular game on both Ethereum and Base, adding a crypto twist to competitive card battlers like Hearthstone. Project Tau Ceti aims to expand the Parallel universe by introducing a completely different genre of game. Using Parallel’s extensive library of 3D assets, including enemies, environments, characters, and weapons, the team plans to create an immersive gaming experience. The game is being developed in partnership with an undisclosed third-party studio using Unreal Engine 5. Project Tau Ceti is expected to undergo early alpha testing on PC in 2025, with the potential for future releases on mobile and console platforms.
