Ripple’s chief legal officer, Stuart Alderoty, has discussed the potential for an appeal by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) following the final judgment in the XRP case. Alderoty suggested that if the Biden-Harris administration is committed to resetting its stance on cryptocurrency, the SEC should not seek to appeal. He highlighted that the SEC “lost on everything” important in the case, including the court’s rejection of XRP being classified as a security. Alderoty stated that Ripple is “feeling really good” about the judgment and emphasized the need for clear laws and regulations in the crypto industry.
