Russian Woman Falls Victim to Crypto Fraudsters, Loses Over 1 Million Rubles

Another gullible Russian woman fell into the trap of crypto fraudsters – 31-year-old resident of Omsk transferred over 1 million rubles to a “platform for earning money on mining.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Omsk region, a criminal case was initiated under part. 3 st.. 159 of the Criminal Code “Fraud”.

A resident of the Central District contacted the police after she saw a message in one of the messengers promising a large and stable income from cryptocurrencies.

She called the scammers, and the man on the other end of the line said he was mining and paid a daily profit to investors.

The victim trusted the man and transferred 1 million rubles to the specified account. Of course, she didn’t wait for the profits.

Fraudsters, on the other hand, reported that the platform had been hacked and you need to wait a bit – the funds are safe, but in the process of being transferred to a new site.

However, then the criminals blocked the Omsk woman in messenger and stopped contacting her.

After that the victim went to the police. Now law enforcement agencies are conducting investigative actions to identify the fraudsters.

If found and arrested, they could face up to six years in prison.

Earlier it was reported that a 19-year-old student from Khakassia lost 300,000 rubles while trying to make money on cryptocurrencies.
