The State Duma proposed to create a single cryptocurrency for the EAEC

The State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots recommended the government to study the possibility of creating a single cryptocurrency for settlements between the EAEU countries.</div

The draft resolution to be voted for by the State Duma came after a report by Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk on Russia’s cooperation with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. In addition to the duty items on the development of cooperation, integration of monetary and financial systems, there was such a point:

No details and details of the project yet. The government has not yet responded to the draft document. The text on the afternoon of Friday, June 23, was sent to the Council of the State Duma, which must determine at which session the lower house of parliament can vote for the draft.

There was talk of a single digital currency for the EAEU back in 2018. At that time, the project was supposed to be an analogue of the ecu coin, which was used in the European monetary system of the EEC and the EU from 1979 to 1998, before the advent of the euro.
