A fake Xumm Wallet app targeting users of the open source XRPL blockchain has appeared in the Google Chrome store. A malicious extension in Google Chrome has already received more than 40 positive reviews. This tactic is often used by scammers to convince unsuspecting users that an app is authentic. However, users should be alerted to the fact that there are numerous typos in the description of the fake product. It was recently reported that a fake Ledger Live app in the Microsoft store caused users to lose 16.8 BTC worth $588,000.
