MetaMask Warns Users of False Rumors Surrounding Token Airdrop

MetaMask, the popular wallet provider, has issued a warning to its users regarding false rumors of an upcoming token airdrop on March 31st.

The MetaMask team has clarified that they have no plans for any public promotions on this date, and they are urging their customers to be cautious when visiting suspicious websites and not to trust the promises of scammers.

The spread of these false rumors not only misleads the users but also creates opportunities for scammers and phishers, as stated by MetaMask representatives.

Network observers believe that a recent report from the ETHDenver 2023 crypto festival, where ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin discussed plans to decentralize MetaMask and distribute the platform token, could have sparked this surge in scam activity.

It is noteworthy that MetaMask recently announced its partnership with the Mercuryo payment system, which allows users to buy currencies directly from their bank accounts.
