Google Trends: The number of search queries with the word “cryptocurrency” has fallen to 2020 levels

According to Google Trends, the number of search queries containing the word “cryptocurrency” has fallen to the lowest values of late 2020.</div

The term “cryptocurrency” now scores 17 on the Popularity Dynamics Scale. For comparison, in May 2021 this indicator was 100 points. However, user interest began to wane in May 2022, one month after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. A small spike occurred in early November 2022, when the cryptocurrency exchange FTX collapsed.

Nigeria has the highest score for cryptocurrency-related queries, and South American countries have the lowest values. The drop in interest may be due to the fact that bitcoin has been holding steady at around $28,000 for the past 10 weeks;
