LG Electronics Plans Patent for TV Enabling Non-Exchangeable Token Trading On-Screen

South Korean tech giant LG Electronics plans to get a patent for a TV that will allow its users to trade non-exchangeable tokens right on the screen.
According to the company, the device will be able to connect to the NFT trading server, which will make it possible to buy NFTs not only for fiat currency, but also through a cryptocurrency wallet connected to the device;

LG Electronics already launched an NFT marketplace on its TVs last September.

The patent filing shows that the company believes the demand for NFT is growing, and wants to make collectible tokens more accessible to users.

In March 2023 LG moved to blockchain and rewrote its corporate charter.

The tech giant is actively restructuring loss-making businesses and launching new ones, including in the blockchain industry. A cryptocurrency wallet based on Hedera was recently launched;

Earlier, LG management agreed with cloud platform Oorbit and Web3 company Pixelynx to support meta universes in LG TVs.

Users are promised access to interconnected virtual worlds, music concerts, multiplayer games, and other aspects of meta universes. Advanced artificial intelligence technology is promised.
