The Shiba Inu team warned about fraud with not yet released TREAT tokens

The Shiba Inu memecoin team has recently issued a cautionary statement about scammers spreading false information regarding TREAT tokens. The team clarifies that the token has not been released yet, and urges users to be vigilant.

In a recent announcement, Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, revealed that the project team successfully raised $12 million through the sale of TREAT tokens to venture investors. However, the exact number of tokens sold remains undisclosed. The raised funds are intended for the development of a third-level solution based on Shibarium, aiming to enhance privacy and security.

Exploiting this information, fraudsters have started disseminating messages falsely claiming that the Shiba Inu team has already made the tokens publicly available. These scammers are distributing harmful links and providing detailed instructions that lure investors into purchasing fake TREAT tokens.

“The TREAT token has not been officially launched. Please exercise caution and refrain from engaging in any transactions related to TREAT until official information is released by the project’s authorized sources. Spread this message to protect others from falling victim to scams. Be especially mindful of your financial security,” the developers cautioned.

According to data from IntoTheBlock in March, the number of new Shiba Inu addresses has witnessed a 20-fold increase in recent months. Additionally, Google Trends analysts have reported a surge in user interest in Shiba Inu, with December 2021 trending towards an all-time high.
