Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency assets have experienced a significant surge in value leading up to the 2024 U.S. presidential election. According to Arkham, a crypto intelligence platform, Trump’s crypto holdings have increased by $6.1 million since the start of the year.
Interestingly, memecoins make up over 65% of Trump’s current portfolio, signaling a shift in his financial interests, especially considering his previous skepticism towards crypto. His portfolio is currently valued at $7.71 million.
The largest asset in Trump’s portfolio is MAGA (TRUMP), which has a value of $3.12 million and has seen an increase of $191,170 in the last 24 hours. Other major assets include Ethereum (ETH), valued at $1.29 million, and Wrapped ETH (WETH), worth $1.25 million, both of which have experienced minor losses over the past day.
In addition to these assets, Trump holds significant amounts of memecoins such as TROG, valued at $959,170, and GUA, worth $433,650. Smaller assets include the FIGHT token, valued at $144,050, and USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin with a balance of $137,808.
Data from Arkham also reveals that Trump’s address has received $3.01 million in deposits, primarily through Coinbase, with deposit activity high since September 2023 and stabilizing in early 2024. However, his withdrawal activity has been minimal, indicating a preference for holding rather than liquidating assets.
In a noteworthy development, the political action committee (PAC) supporting Trump’s campaign, Trump 47, has received $7.5 million worth of cryptocurrency donations. These contributions, made in various cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC) and stablecoins like USDC and Tether (USDT), were disclosed in a filing with the Federal Election Commission. Bitcoin accounted for the largest donations, with crypto executives contributing around $5.5 million in total.
Prominent figures in the crypto industry, such as David Bailey of BTC Inc., Gary Cardone, Mike Belshe (CEO of BitGo), and Bruce Fenton of Chainstone Labs, were among the contributors, donating significant amounts ranging from $60,000 to $500,000.
