Bitcoin Long-Term Holders Increase Dramatically, Number Reaches Nearly 45 Million

According to Santiment’s analytics, there has been a significant increase in the number of long-term Bitcoin investors.

Currently, almost 45 million individuals and businesses are holding Bitcoin for the long haul, marking the highest growth rate since early 2021.

It’s worth noting that back then, Bitcoin’s value was around $30,000 and later skyrocketed to over $64,000 within a few months.

Interestingly, the data indicates that the numbers have shifted dramatically following the collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange.

Before the marketplace filed for bankruptcy protection, there were less than 927,000 addresses with more than 1 Bitcoin.

However, a month later, that number had risen to 970,000. Furthermore, Glassnode’s experts have revealed that more than 50% of all Bitcoins in circulation have remained stagnant for the past two years.

Despite this, the value of the leading cryptocurrency continues to rise, reaching a peak of over $30,000 on Wednesday morning, April 11.

This is the highest price point in the past ten months, with the last time Bitcoin reaching this level being in June 2022, though its value had significantly dropped since then.
