Coinbase, Binance and Other Top Exchanges Roll Out Trading Support for Brand-New ‘Omnichain’ Altcoin

Coinbase, Binance, and other leading cryptocurrency exchanges are offering trading support for a newly launched altcoin native to the omnichain project called LayerZero. LayerZero is an interoperability protocol aiming to facilitate data transfer between blockchains and enable censorship-resistant messages and permissionless development through immutable smart contracts. The project’s native token, ZRO, was introduced on Thursday, receiving support from exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, OKX, Bybit, Crypto.com, and Bitfinex. The LayerZero Foundation also introduced a claiming mechanism for ZRO called “proof-of-donation” to support Ethereum development through the Protocol Guild. Users can claim ZRO by donating $0.10 in USDC, USDT, or native ETH per ZRO, with the LayerZero Foundation matching all donations up to $10 million. Despite dropping nearly 20% on its first day of trading, ZRO is currently priced at $3.57.
