Elon Musk announced restrictions for Twitter users

  • These are meant to reduce the load on the system
  • Now a new account without verification will not be able to view more than 300 articles per day
  • Some users have noted that another innovation has caused the load
  • Twitter has shut down public access to content to curb data leaks

Twitter began complaining about the glitches in its service on Saturday, July 1, with scores of users. Later that day, Elon Musk published a message stating temporary restrictions for readers. He says this is necessary to reduce the load on the system.</nbsp;

This includes the following:

  • Verified accounts can review up to 6,000 articles per day;
  • Pages without a “checkmark” – 600 posts;
  • New unverified accounts – up to 300 posts.</nbsp;

Later the available limit is planned to increase to 8,000, 800 and 400 posts, respectively.</nbsp;

On Saturday, between 7,500 and 10,000 users reported Twitter outages, according to various estimates. The “#TwitterDown” tag topped the list for the number of requests.</nbsp;

Some commenters said the problem lies in Twitter’s network infrastructure:

“The platform itself is under DDOS attack, launching about 10 requests per second to show content blocked for unregistered accounts.

The author of the note above refers to another change in the site’s internal policies, this time hidden. Twitter disabled public access to “tweets” late last week.

This change is aimed, according to experts, at combating the popularization of AI-powered chatbots. Twitter shuts down its database to stop leaks. But, as you can see, this has had some unfortunate consequences.

Remind that in mid-April, Elon Musk said he intends to sue Microsoft. And here is the strange thing, the reason for it was just the fact that the corporation used Twitter data for machine learning software based on AI. Anyway, but Musk’s current actions can be safely attributed to a series of his great failures as the head of the social network. This includes, for example, his “war” with bots, which is ineffective and completely ineffective.
