Latin American exchange Ripio received a license to operate in Spain

Management of Latin American cryptocurrency platform Ripio announced that the company has received approval from the Bank of Spain to operate in the country as a virtual asset service provider.</div

The exchange can now provide the country’s residents with virtual currency exchange services for fiat currency, as well as digital wallet storage services.

“After much hard work, Ripio has finally received approval to operate in Spain,” the exchange’s CEO Sebastian Serrano tweeted.

Ripio was founded in Argentina. It has branches in Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and the United States. Ripio now has 8 million users, generating $200 million in transactions per month;

Notably, Ripio was one of the few companies to be audited by financial auditors from KPMG, PWC, EY and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

Marketplace Crypto.com recently announced that it has been licensed as a virtual asset provider by the Bank of Spain.
