Sonic Testnet ‘Odyssey’ Hits 100K Wallets and 17M Transactions

Sonic Testnet ‘Odyssey’ Surpasses 100K Wallets and Registers 17M Transactions

Sonic, the groundbreaking atomic Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) chain enabling independent game economies on the Solana network, has achieved a significant milestone with its incentivized testnet, “Odyssey.” The testnet has recently surpassed 100,000 connected wallets, with over 17 million transactions recorded. This achievement sets the stage for Sonic’s upcoming mainnet launch.

To further strengthen its ecosystem prior to the mainnet release, Sonic has secured backing from Cypher Capital, a multi-strategy crypto investment firm with $308 million in assets. The new investment will be used to expand core development, game-related initiatives, and marketing teams worldwide. Additionally, the funds will support the ongoing “Odyssey” testnet campaign and reinforce Sonic’s core teams.

Presently, Sonic maintains an active testnet that encourages users to engage in various on-chain activities, including transactions and games that will soon be launched on the platform.

Chris Zhu, the founder of Sonic, acknowledges the invaluable role played by Cypher Capital in the development and growth of the project. He highlights Cypher Capital’s extensive community connections and access to the right resources, which have been instrumental in bridging the gap between gaming and the Solana network.

Cypher Capital, as the sole Solana Virtual Machine gaming chain, has been instrumental in aiding Sonic with its market entry plan. Sonic’s infrastructure is built on HyperGrid, a horizontal scaling solution pinned to Solana. This unique feature allows any game to create its own blockchain rollup and design independent game economies.

Harsh Agarwal, the Investment Lead at Cypher Capital, expresses his excitement in supporting Sonic’s development as the first SVM Layer 2 Gaming Chain. He praises Chris Zhu for his expertise and strategic vision, while also expressing confidence in Sonic’s ability to enable gaming economies on Solana.

With these recent developments, Sonic is well-positioned to become a major player in the intersection of blockchain games. As it garners attention from significant investors and participants in the crypto market, Sonic’s strong performance on its testnet and its forthcoming mainnet release indicate positive trends for the adoption of blockchain gaming on Solana.
