Standard Chartered Raises Year-End BTC Forecast to $150K, Sees 2025 High of $250K

Standard Chartered bank recently increased its year-end forecast for the price of Bitcoin (BTC) to $150,000, up 50% from its previous prediction of $100,000. The bank also projected that BTC will reach a peak of $250,000 in 2025 before stabilizing around $200,000. This optimistic outlook is based on comparing the price of gold after the introduction of gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the U.S. and considering the correlation between ETF inflows and the BTC price. Standard Chartered noted that if ETF inflows reach an estimated $75 billion and if reserve managers begin purchasing BTC, there is a strong possibility of the price surpassing the $250,000 threshold. Additionally, the bank stated that if a spot ETF for ether (ETH) is approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission, it could lead to inflows of up to $45 billion in the first year, driving the price of ETH to approximately $8,000 by the end of 2024. The bank also projected that the ETH-to-BTC price ratio would increase to 7% by 2025, resulting in an estimated ETH price of $14,000 with a BTC price of $200,000 at the end of that year.
