Vodafone and Sony to combat supply chain fraud with blockchain

Subsidiaries of Vodafone and Sony are taking a proactive approach to combat supply chain fraud by harnessing the power of blockchain technology. Pairpoint, a collaboration between Vodafone and Sumitomo Corporation, is joining forces with Sensos, a subsidiary of Sony Semiconductor Israel, to explore the potential of a blockchain-based smart label feature. Sensos, with its expertise and experience despite being a relatively new player, will integrate their Internet of Things (IoT) tracking solution with Pairpoint’s digital identity and transactional platform. This partnership aims to revolutionize the supply chain landscape by ensuring efficient processes and real-time alerts without increasing costs. The addition of blockchain technology into the mix will provide data transparency and immutability, making logistics transactions tamper-proof. All the involved parties have invested significantly in blockchain research and are poised to explore new possibilities and enhance processes in the supply chain vertical.
