Worldcoin Hires Former Google, X and Apple Execs to Beef Up Privacy, Security

Worldcoin, the builder of decentralized identity project Tools for Humanity, has strengthened its team by hiring former executives from tech giants Google, X (previously Twitter), and Apple. Damien Kieran, formerly of X, has joined as chief privacy officer, while Adrian Ludwig and Ajay Patel have been hired as chief information security officer and head of World ID, respectively. Rich Heley, a former executive at Apple, Meta, and Tesla, has been appointed as chief device officer. The goal of these new hires is to enhance privacy, security, and identity management for the Worldcoin project. Worldcoin has faced scrutiny from data protection regulators in various countries, and earlier this year, its iris scanning and identification operations were found to violate data protection principles in Hong Kong. The company aims to address these concerns and comply with privacy regulations and frameworks with the help of its new team members.
