Bitget launches Blockchain4Her project to promote gender equality on Web3

At the Web3 Hub in Davos, organized by CV Labs during the World Economic Forum 2024, Bitget unveiled the groundbreaking Blockchain4Her program, aimed at fostering gender diversity and equality in the blockchain industry.

Bitget, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges and Web3 companies, introduced the Blockchain4Her program today, with the vision of empowering and celebrating women in the field of blockchain and Web3, and promoting female entrepreneurship.

Despite advances and increasing inclusivity in the industry, there is still a significant gender imbalance. A recent study conducted by Bitget revealed that only 6% of blockchain startups receiving funding were led by women, highlighting the need for change.

The Blockchain4Her program seeks to address this disparity by shedding light on the challenges faced by women-led startups, raising awareness, and fostering collaborative efforts to create a more inclusive financial industry.

Key initiatives of the Blockchain4Her program include incubation programs for women entrepreneurs and pitch competitions, offering comprehensive support, mentorship, and resources to empower women and drive their success in the industry. Furthermore, a pitch competition for women-founded startups is planned, providing them with a platform to showcase their innovations and attract potential investment.

Notable initiatives of Blockchain4Her:

  1. Women in Blockchain Summit and Awards. An exclusive event platform to recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of women in the blockchain sector. This summit aims to provide networking opportunities, encouraging collaboration and community-building among women. Through insightful discussions and events, Bitget strives to inspire more women to actively participate and develop their careers in the blockchain industry.

  2. Ambassador program. Industry leaders are invited to serve as ambassadors for the Blockchain4Her program, supporting gender equality in blockchain. These ambassadors will provide guidance, engagement, and support to create an inclusive environment.

The Blockchain4Her initiative by Bitget builds upon the success of the Blockchain4Youth project and the Bitget Builders program. It is a testament to Bitget’s commitment to equal opportunities and financial inclusion, serving as the bedrock of these initiatives.

“In an ever-evolving industry, diversity and inclusion are paramount for sustainability. Blockchain4Her reflects our dedication to addressing gender inequality in the blockchain sector. Through incubation programs, pitch competitions, and recognition events, we aim to empower women to take leadership roles in the Web3 and blockchain space. This initiative aligns with our shared vision of creating an equitable and inclusive future through blockchain technologies,” expressed Gracie Chen, the Managing Director of Bitget, enthused by the initiative.

Bitget’s Blockchain4Her program is driving progress toward advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals on gender equality by establishing a more diverse and inclusive blockchain industry that empowers women to contribute, lead, and thrive within the field.
