Bitcoin Ordinals Project Runestone is hosting an auction ahead of its upcoming airdrop. The Runestone, which is the largest ordinal inscription by block size, has garnered a bid of 0.26 BTC (approximately $17,261.61) on the Ord City marketplace. Leonidas, an NFT historian, revealed that all proceeds from the auction will be used to cover Bitcoin network fees associated with the Runestone airdrop and will go to Bitcoin miners. The Runestone auction will conclude on March 8, 2024, at noon. The anticipated airdrop will see over 112,000 eligible Bitcoin addresses receive a Runestone ordinal inscription.
