MicroBT, a leading player in the Bitcoin mining industry, made waves at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, TN, by unveiling its latest WhatsMiner M6XS+ series. This new series includes air-cooling, hydro-cooling, and immersion-cooling models, pushing the boundaries of renewable mining technology.
Dr. Zuoxing Yang, the visionary founder and CEO of MicroBT, highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable and efficient mining practices in his keynote address. He emphasized that renewable mining, particularly solar mining, is the future of the industry. Dr. Yang predicted that by 2026, the cost of electricity for solar power mining could decrease to around 4 cents USD per kWh, removing a major barrier for the solar power mining industry.
MicroBT has made significant advancements in its solar mining technology, including the successful pilot of a 100 kW project. Dr. Yang also announced the upcoming launch of the WhatsMiner solar mining container system and encouraged industry partners to join in advancing solar-powered mining excellence.
The WhatsMiner M6XS+ series introduces several exciting features. The WhatsMiner hydro-cooling miner now boasts a high outlet water temperature of up to 80℃ (176℉), enabling versatile heat utilization for agricultural heating, regional heating, and power grid balancing. This innovation aims to offer a more efficient cooling solution for mining while enhancing MicroBT’s competitiveness in the renewable mining sector.
During the conference, Dr. Yang introduced the latest models in the WhatsMiner lineup. These include the WhatsMiner M60S+ (air-cooling) with a hashrate of up to 210 TH/s and a power efficiency of 17 J/T, the WhatsMiner M63S+ (hydro-cooling) with a hashrate of up to 450 TH/s and a power efficiency of 17 J/T, the WhatsMiner M64 (hydro-cooling) with a hashrate of up to 206 TH/s and a power efficiency of 19.9 J/T, and the WhatsMiner M66S+ (immersion-cooling) with a hashrate of up to 318 TH/s and a power efficiency of 17 J/T. Dr. Yang also promised further product releases and solutions in the spring of 2025.
Following Dr. Yang’s keynote, Wright Wang, Sales & Marketing Director of MicroBT, participated in a panel discussion alongside representatives from Riot Platforms and Peak Mining, a part of the Northern Data Group. The panel focused on collaboration between manufacturing and mining, with Wang highlighting that Riot hosts the largest immersion-cooling deployment globally and Northern Data is preparing for a large-scale hydro-cooling deployment, both relying heavily on WhatsMiner products.
