Bitcoin Plummets Toward $67K but These Coins Have it Worse (Market Watch)

Bitcoin’s price has taken a substantial hit, dropping to around $67,500. This decline has had a ripple effect across the cryptocurrency market, causing the total market capitalization to fall below $2.6 trillion. However, while Bitcoin’s losses amount to a 2.7% decrease in the past 24 hours, some altcoins have fared even worse. Large-cap altcoins such as SOL, SHIB, ETH, PEPE, TON, and BNB have experienced steeper declines ranging from 3% to 5%. Additionally, meme coins like PEOPLE, PONKE, BRETT, DOGE, FLOKI, and SHIB have all seen significant losses. It remains to be seen whether this is a short-term correction or if the downward trend will persist throughout the summer months. The top performer in the market today is Injective (INJ), which has increased by 10%, following an announcement of improved tokenomics. On the other hand, the TON-based meme coin Notcoin (NOT) has taken the biggest tumble among the top 100 cryptocurrencies, dropping by 14.7% in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, Wormhole and BRETT have also experienced notable declines of 11.6% and 9.4%, respectively.
