Brazilian Parliament investigates the head of Binance Brazil

The Brazilian National Congress Group to Investigate Financial Pyramids demanded that the director of Binance Brazil appear before lawmakers to report on the operation of the exchange.

.

Congressman Alfredo Gaspar, on behalf of the group, submitted a request for a vote by Brazil’s lower house of parliament to summon the director of Binance Brazil, Guilherme Haddad, to testify in a parliamentary investigation into pyramid schemes.

In support of his request, Alfredo Gaspar drew the attention of fellow MPs that the activities of the cryptocurrency platform Binance have attracted the close attention of supervisory authorities around the world. The investigation initiated by the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) into Binance Brazil for offering cryptocurrency derivatives market products without a license from the regulator is ongoing.

The congressman cited Brazilian law enforcement officials who insist: pyramid organizers Ever Operations and Investments and Braiscompany actively used Binance Brazil to withdraw criminally earned assets.

“We can conclude that the criminal activities of the financial pyramids were tied to the services of Binance Brazil. Therefore, it is important to understand the principles of the cryptocurrency marketplace, its relationship with regulators and B Fintech. And also to trace the connection to the companies that are now on trial for harming Brazilian citizens,” Alfredo Gaspar said.

A vote to summon Haddad to the Brazilian Parliament could take place next week.
