Coinbase announced the launch of crypto derivatives in Canada

The largest American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is going to expand the list of services and products available to clients from neighboring Canada.

We are talking about the offer of derivatives. Coinbase intends to release perpetual futures on cryptocurrencies in the coming months. Consultations are ongoing with the Government of Canada on changes and improvements to current regulations.

The regional director of the exchange, Lucas Matheson, announced that regulation of the virtual asset market in Canada can be considered a standard for other countries. The top manager assures that existing regulatory principles already provide an opportunity for exchanges and organizations to introduce new products and services.

Canada is a kind of sandbox for testing cryptocurrency products, which may then appear in the United States or the European Union, Coinbase believes.

Earlier, Coinbase analysts published a report noting the disadvantages of traditional payment methods, such as high transaction fees and long waiting times.
