Dogecoin Creator Breaks Silence As Bitcoin Loses $55,000

Billy Markus, also known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the co-creator of Dogecoin, has broken his silence amidst the recent decline in Bitcoin prices. In a tweet on the US Independence Day, Markus made an ironic comment on the Bitcoin collapse, accompanied by a chart showing the price hitting $55,465. He followed this up with another tweet stating, “Freedom that slowly erodes when the price goes down,” in response to those who believe Bitcoin represents freedom.

Bitcoin has experienced a significant drop of 10.67% in the past 24 hours, falling from around $60,341 to $53,879. Since Monday, it has lost over 15%, equivalent to nearly $10,000 in price. However, there has been some rebound, with BTC currently trading at $54,366. It has been speculated that whales are buying Bitcoin dips on the Bitfinex exchange, and there have been reports of miners, as well as the US and German governments, selling significant amounts of Bitcoin. Tron Founder Justin Sun has even expressed his willingness to negotiate with the German government to purchase their BTC off the market to minimize the impact on the cryptocurrency market. In addition, there have been developments related to Mt Gox, one of the first Bitcoin exchanges, which has started moving BTC to repay its investors.

As the crypto market experiences turbulence, Billy Markus has found an opportunity to voice his thoughts and observations, providing some unique perspectives on the current state of Bitcoin.
