Epic Games has returned the blockchain game Gods Unchained to the app store

  • Epic Games has updated its online application store policy to allow certain blockchain games with an “adult” rating.
  • Gods Unchained and Striker Manager 3 have been re-listed on the Epic Games Store due to these policy changes.

American company Epic Games has revised its online application store policy to include blockchain games once again. This decision comes after the studio previously excluded projects with an “adult” rating from its digital distribution platform.

One of the games affected by the old policy was Gods Unchained, a card game that was initially available on the Epic Games Store in June 2023 but later removed. The “adult” rating was given to projects that implemented the Play-to-Earn mechanism, where players could exchange virtual currency for real money.

To avoid potential issues with such games, Epic Games has now decided to allow projects associated with NFTs and blockchain, even if they have an “adult” rating. However, these games must still comply with regulations regarding pornography, gambling, and offensive content.

As a result of these policy changes, both Gods Unchained and Striker Manager 3 are once again available for users to purchase and download on the Epic Games Store. Representatives of the projects have expressed their positive reactions to this news.

It is worth noting that Epic Games recently announced a restructuring and a reduction of approximately 16% of its workforce.
