EthCC and ETHGlobal in Paris: a summary of events and cases from 1inch Network

  • In July, two events were held in Paris – EthCC and ETHGlobal.
  • The team of the 1inch Network project took part in them.
  • At EthCC6, co-founder Anton Bukov presented a new concept – plugins for tokens.</nbsp;
  • The first meeting of the project’s community members was also held in Paris.

In July 2023, two Ethereum-themed events were held in Paris – EthCC6 and ETHGlobal. Both events were attended by the 1inch Network team, who presented the concept of tokenization plugins. It was also during this time that the project’s first community rally took place.

EthCC6 took place in Paris

EthCC6 took place between July 17 and 20. The event featured more than 350 speakers. Ethereum project co-founder Vitalik Buterin was among them. As a reminder, Incrypted has an overview of the key points it touched on in its presentation.

The 1inch Network project was presented at the event by Alexandra Fetisova, Head of Affiliate Marketing Department. She spoke about the aggregator, the progress already made and future plans:

The 1inch Network also helped organize the Web3 Infra Bar side-event on the topic of account abstraction:

ETHGlobal was held here in Paris from July 21 to 23. This is a large-scale and important event for the Ethereum community, and included a major hackathon.

At the event, Nick Kozlov, head of strategic partnerships, led a workshop that covered Fusion swaps, the limit order protocol and more:

And everyone could approach the 1inch Network team, chat and get branded merchandise:

The two events left an extremely positive impression, 1inch Network said. Executive PR Director Pavel Kruglov noted the high level of organization, the excellent choice of venues and the incredible response.

“EthCC can be called the most important and largest event for both the Ethereum community and the entire DeFi sector, at least in Europe exactly. On the first day of the conference, there were as many visitors as tourists in the center of Paris,” he said.

The main feature of both events, according to Kruglov, is the audience itself. Among the guests were mostly “techies”, engineers, developers and experts, which had a favorable effect on the atmosphere.. He also noted that the hackathon set a record for the number of teams – 36 projects.. From his words, the concept could revolutionize the DeFi space in the coming years:

Factually, the idea is extensions for tokens based on the ERC-20 standard. The concept allows asset creators to connect assets to smart contracts.

Plugins give the ability to track changes in a user’s account, as well as the balance status of other addresses, including those considered null:

“You don’t need permission to develop these plugins. They are available to any user. They can be set up and offered without restrictions,” Bukov noted.

The concept is completely transparent and safe, the co-founder of 1inch Network emphasized. In the worst case, he said, the plugin uses too much gas, but it can’t block or steal funds.

Bukov said he sees at least two of the most promising uses for plugins – “farming” and delegation.

In the first case, a trader will be able to connect to multiple LP-stacking projects at once; in the second case, the trader will be able to delegate balance management.

“Essentially, this is 100 lines of code that will enable the creation of next-generation reward systems and much more,” emphasized the project’s co-founder.

First 1inch Network Community Mutap

The first community meeting was held at EthCC6. The event was decorated in “unicorn colors”:

The real surprise was when crypto expert Max Bronstein, “random thinker” 0xbilly and co-founder Anil Lulla asked to DJ at the console:

The evening had a drive and a pleasant atmosphere, the project team said. And, of course, this was by no means the last community meeting.
