Former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, recently revealed more information about his latest project, Giggle Academy. After stepping down from the cryptocurrency market, CZ has been focusing on developing this educational initiative.
Giggle Academy currently consists of a team of 10 members, both full-time and part-time, all working remotely. The team meets regularly and is in the process of expanding the team to 15 members through ongoing hiring and CZ’s interviews.
The team has already completed the content for the first phonetics course in English and has begun the production process. In a strategic decision, they have chosen to develop the Android version of the platform first, considering the prevalence of Android devices in their target markets and the user-friendly nature of touch screens.
Giggle Academy is a non-profit organization aiming to provide free access to education for children using innovative techniques, such as gamification and an adaptive curriculum. The goal is to offer free basic education (grades 1-12) for all.
It’s important to note that CZ’s project launch coincides with his ongoing legal challenges in the US. Binance was part of a $4.3 billion settlement with the United States Department of Justice last year. CZ has pleaded guilty to money laundering charges and is scheduled for sentencing on April 30.
