Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has authorized the issuance of another 1 billion coins on the Tron network. The last time it replenished its reserves was in December 2023. Then Tether also printed 1 billion USDT.
Tether stablecoin capitalization continues to grow. At the time of writing, it exceeded $94 billion, according to TradingView:
Note that at the end of 2023 this figure was $91.66 billion. According to DeFiLlama, USDT’s market dominance has exceeded 70.6%. For comparison, in December last year it was 70.2%.
Recall that at the beginning of December 2023, Tether received about $1.1 billion in unrealized profits from investments in Bitcoin.
