Google Cloud to Run Validator on Crypto Gaming Network XPLA

Google Cloud has partnered with XPLA, a blockchain network founded by South Korean game publisher Com2uS, to serve as its inaugural validator. Validator nodes are responsible for verifying and confirming transactions on the network. Unlike traditional validators, volunteer validators on XPLA are not rewarded with tokens but contribute to a community pool. The proposal to introduce volunteer validators has received unanimous support from the XPLA network. Google Cloud aims to leverage its secure and high-performance infrastructure to promote the growth and innovation of Web3 games. XPLA operates on the Tendermint protocol, which also powers the Cosmos network, and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Notable games on the XPLA network include The Walking Dead: All-Stars, Summoner’s War: Chronicles, and Ace Fishing: Crew. XPLA was initially founded as C2X on Terra but rebranded and relaunched after Terra faced challenges in May 2022. Other validators on XPLA include Animoca Brands and Gumi. XPLA Team Lead Paul Kim expressed excitement about the collaboration with Google Cloud to advance their common vision. Google Cloud has previously served as a validator on various blockchain networks, such as Solana, Tezos, Aptos, Polygon, and Celo. In addition, Google Cloud has launched the Web3 Startups Program to provide additional support to crypto firms in partnership with networks like Solana, Aptos, Near, and Hedera.
