HashKey Exchange Suspends Deposits and Withdrawals on Binance

HashKey Exchange, a cryptocurrency exchange, recently announced that it will be temporarily suspending deposits and withdrawals of digital assets from Binance, the world’s largest crypto trading platform.

According to customer support at HashKey Exchange, starting from May 10, 2024, they will no longer accept deposits from wallet addresses hosted on Binance. Furthermore, from May 17, users will no longer be able to withdraw to wallet addresses hosted on Binance.

These restrictions will not affect deposits and withdrawals from non-hosted wallet addresses that have been whitelisted by HashKey.

The decision to impose these restrictions was made due to changes in HashKey’s operational policy.

It is worth noting that this ban on Binance transactions comes shortly after the launch of HashKey Group’s new global trading platform in Bermuda. This platform is specifically targeting international users who are not served by its subsidiary, HashKey Hong Kong.

Given the recent controversies surrounding Binance in the eyes of financial regulators in Hong Kong, it is possible that the HashKey Group’s management aims to avoid any potential issues associated with cooperating with Binance. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) previously indicated that Binance had intentionally created the local cryptocurrency exchange HKVAEX in an attempt to bypass the ban on providing crypto services by the authorities in this special region of China.
