Luminex introduced a new standard – BRC69

  • It targets the concept of recursive tokens
  • It involves issuing new tokens by borrowing fragments of existing ones
  • BRC69 actually forms a “shell” for it, simple and convenient
  • Testing the innovation on the Luminex platform

The Luminex launchpad for issuing Bitcoin-based tokens unveiled the new BRC69 standard yesterday, July 3. It targets so-called recursive inscriptions.

As you may recall, the concept was introduced in mid-June.. Here, for example, is a little reference from Leonidas, the founding father of Ordinals. In even shorter terms, it bypasses the 4MB maximum token size limit.

This is accomplished through an interconnected network infrastructure. Recursive inscriptions use elements of existing tokens to create new ones.

BRC69, in turn, reduces the cost of issuing inscriptions by 90%. This is achieved through a complex process, from adding certain features to compiling and releasing them.

The standard also has a nice, user-friendly UX. To issue a token, just type a line of text instead of searching for an image. The entire process takes place inside the Bitcoin chain, and the result is a high-quality image.. Luminex said they are already preparing several projects that will be based on this concept.. Note that Ordinals are in great demand. At the end of May, the total number of inscriptions exceeded 10 million. This creates a high load on the network, which causes discontent among some users.
