Meta will launch Threads as early as July 6. But crypto-bloggers are not too happy about this alternative

  • An announcement of the app was met with more than coolness
  • Users are concerned about Meta’s internal policy
  • It provides that the company has all rights to any user content in the app

This week Meta unveiled its own Twitter counterpart, called Threads. According to the counter from the official site, the project will be released tomorrow, July 6. It is positioned as a next-generation decentralized social network with the most user-friendly interface. But is this true in practice? </nbsp;

The Threads app card appeared in the Play Market back on July 1, but then it was quickly removed.. The App Store, in turn, is already available for pre-order.

The description says that the user can authorize through their Instagram account. The app allows you to exchange messages and leave short notes. The interface as a whole strongly resembles the Twitter client.

Threads also appears to have adopted some elements of Bluesky from Jack Dorsey. Recall that we covered the release of this project in detail in a separate article.

An interesting fact is that in March it was reported that Meta was developing a social networking project with ActivityPub support.. At the time, the information was insider information, and the name of the application was not disclosed. It is possible that it was Threads.

Cryptocurrency reviewers and Influencersreacted

Additionally, the announcement drew a rather subdued reaction.. For example, Tiffany Fong, a popular blogger with over 66,000 followers, noted in a comment for Cointelegraph that this was the first time she had heard of such an app.

Kyle Chasse, an Influencer and cryptocurrency expert, is also in no hurry to change the platform. He took a poll among his users, and Twitter won.

Why is the audience negative?

It’s all about fear. For example, here’s a comment from ex-CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey, the developer of Bluesky mentioned above:

“We own all your Threads.”

He emphasized that Meta’s internal policies effectively indicate that the company owns all of the information, including the financial information. This, of course, raises concerns about censorship, which the cryptocurrency community is more than negative about.
