Shaquille O’Neal Faces Lawsuit Over Cryptocurrency Exchange Promotion and NFT Project

  • The basketball star has been hiding from lawyers for months
  • He is accused of advertising a cryptocurrency exchange
  • Also O’Neal will answer for his NFT project

Shakil O’Neal finally received documents about his participation in the FTX lawsuit. He was served the summons during one of the sports matches.

The athlete’s name appears in a class action lawsuit filed against a number of celebrities who promoted the crypto exchange.

The New York Post wrote last month that the man avoided being served legal documents. He allegedly has not contacted his lawyers or responded to inquiries.

The lawsuit against the stars promoting FTX was filed by the company’s investor Edwin Garrison.

He claimed that he lost his investment and could not withdraw money from the cryptocurrency exchange.

The man blames stars who “influenced customers’ decisions with their authority.”

Last year, O’Neal made excuses that he was just a celebrity who was invited for publicity.

“I have nothing to hide.. If I was heavily involved, I would be on the front lines and encouraged in every way to invest. But I was just a paid representative.”

Another lawsuit concerns the Astrals NFT collection, launched last March. This is a project specifically from Shaquille O’Neal. Here he is promoting art tokens on his Twitter.

The lawsuit says that NFT Astrals are unregistered securities, which violates U.S. law.
