Social network VKontakte launches NFT trading platform

Users of Russia's largest social network VKontakte will be able to place collectible tokens (NFT) in their account on the platform, as well as set them as avatars.

The team of the social network VKontakte announced that a separate section will appear on the site, where users will be able to upload their NFT collections, as well as buy and sell tokens. In addition, the VK NFT service will allow you to set NFT as an avatar for your profile.. To implement all the functionality, users will need to link their crypto wallet to the service.

“Our task is to simplify the interaction of users with NFT and make the technology truly mainstream.. VKontakte plans to integrate the technology into other products of the platform. In the near future, avatars and an NFT showcase for communities will be launched, and further plans include integration with vmoji, the game platform, gifts and much more,” said Marina Krasnova, CEO of VKontakte.

Simultaneously with the launch of the VK NFT service, the VKontakte network will offer users an educational course on working with non-fungible tokens. New features will become available on all operating systems, including iOS, in the near future.

Earlier, Warner Music Group (WMG) announced the creation of its platform for NFT trading.. Musicians who have signed a contract with WMG will be able to issue and sell non-fungible tokens dedicated to their music albums on the Polygon-powered LGND Music platform.
