After the State Duma passed a law on the digital ruble, the Central Bank of Russia announced that the first real transactions with the state digital currency will begin in August.
“The law on the digital ruble has been adopted. We plan to start the pilot with real digital rubles in August,” the official statement said.
Back in late March, the Bank of Russia said it was ready to conduct a pilot with 13 commercial banks
