The Winklevoss brothers received approval to launch Gemini crypto exchange in France

Gemini has successfully obtained approval from the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), marking a significant achievement in their European expansion. Gillian Lynch, the head of Gemini’s European office, expressed excitement in an interview with CNBC, stating that the crypto platform would soon introduce its products to both retail and institutional clients in France. The exchange is currently making final preparations to fully launch its platform to local users.

With approval received, Gemini will soon offer its eOTC electronic over-the-counter solution to exchange clients in France. Furthermore, users will have the ability to trade over 70 cryptocurrencies through Gemini’s website and mobile app. This move follows the successful registration of Gemini as a VASP by the Central Bank of Ireland in 2022, making it the first foreign company to achieve such a status.
