U.S. Secret Service Cybercrime Division to Hold Q&A Session on Cryptocurrencies

The cybercrime division of the San Francisco office of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) will hold a Q&A session on the Internet forum Reddit about the nuances of dealing with cryptocurrencies.

The session will take place on Monday, May 15, at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time – that’s 10:00 p.m. Moscow time.

The goal of the special agents will be to teach Reddit users how to safely use cryptocurrencies and prevent crime.

“The Secret Service protects the highest levels of government.. But we are also responsible for protecting the country’s financial system.

Now it often involves working with cryptocurrencies.

In San Francisco, we have a dedicated cryptocurrency department of several agents and analysts who have an excellent understanding of the future of money and are willing to share their knowledge in the community to help save your money.

We hope to learn from you as well,” the office announced.

The moderator of the r\cryptocurrency section confirmed that the special agents will be real. They provided the necessary evidence in a private chat.

Last year, USSS officials said the agency had seized $102 million worth of various cryptocurrencies since 2015.
