Vitalik Buterin Lends Hand of Support to DOGE Community

Vitalik Buterin Extends Support to DOGE Community Following the Passing of Kabosu

Founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, recently expressed his condolences on the X social media platform upon learning about the death of Kabosu, the beloved Shiba Inu dog and inspiration behind the infamous Doge meme. Buterin’s tweet, which read “Rest in peace Kabochan,” served as a silent yet resolute display of support for the Dogecoin community.

Kabosu gained widespread recognition in 2010 after her photos went viral, and her popularity soared even higher when Dogecoin was created in 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, drawing inspiration from the meme. In honor of Kabosu, the adorable Shiba Inu became the official mascot of Dogecoin, further solidifying her position as a cherished figure within the Dogecoin army.

Following Kabosu’s passing, prominent figures in the crypto industry, including Elon Musk, the official Dogecoin account, and DOGE founder Billy Markus, paid their respects and shared in the collective sorrow felt by the Dogecoin community.

Notably, Buterin has consistently shown respect and support for the DOGE community. In the past, he made substantial donations to the Dogecoin Foundation and became a member in 2021. As a member, he presented proposals aimed at improving DOGE, such as transitioning from a proof-of-work algorithm to a proof-of-stake one.

Vitalik Buterin’s continuous involvement and expressions of support exemplify his dedication to fostering innovation and collaboration within the cryptocurrency community.
