Vivek Ramaswamy: “The digital dollar is a threat to US freedom”

U.S. presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said he is an opponent of central bank digital currencies and considers them a serious threat to the freedom of U.S. citizens.

Vivek Ramaswamy said that China is introducing state-run cryptocurrency to restrict people’s freedom and the US should not follow suit.

“The Chinese Communist Party has reasons why they want to adopt CBDC, which is why we in the United States should not do it,” the politician said.

Ramaswamy isn’t the only one calling for a ban on the digital dollar. Republican Warren Davidson recently spoke out against central bank digital currencies, calling on the U.S. Congress to ban the development and implementation of the digital dollar.

Another presidential candidate, Ron DeSantis, has pledged to ban the introduction and use of government-issued digital currencies if he wins the election.
