Binance refuses to delist anonymous coins in Europe

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced that it has decided to cancel its plan to delist a number of digital coins in the EU. The company explained that in this way it follows the EU laws.

Previously, Binance was going to exclude from the listing tokens for the citizens of France, Italy, Spain and Poland from June 26.Such coins, which would allow for anonymity, would include Decred (DCR), Dash (DASH), ZEC, Horizen (ZEN), PIVX (PIVX), Navcoin (NAV), Secret (SCRT), Verge (XVG), Firo (FIRO), Beam (BEAM), XMR and MobileCoin (MOB).

“After careful consideration of feedback from our community and several projects, we have reviewed how we classify anonymous coins on the platform to comply with EU regulatory requirements,” crypto-exchange officials said.

Because the company operates as an exchange registered in various EU jurisdictions, it must follow local regulations that require trading platforms to “be able to track transactions for all coins.”

In May, the European Council finalized legislation to regulate the crypto-asset market. According to an official statement released by the council, the new law introduces “a single hormonized regulatory framework” across the eurozone.
