CoinMarketCap: Bitcoin has crossed the important mark of $51,000 and continues to rise in price

Based on the information from the CoinMarketCap service, Wednesday, February 14, proved to be a significant day for the first cryptocurrency by market capitalization. It reached a new two-year high value.

After a slight dip from $50,255 to $48,500 on the evening of February 13, Bitcoin saw an impressive increase of over $3,000 in value within the next 12 hours. On a weekly basis, the price surged by more than 20%. Additionally, recent data showed a 4% boost in asset value.

During Wednesday evening, the average weighted exchange value of BTC tested the range of $51,600 to $51,824.

According to the Coinglass platform, traders’ short positions worth over $130 million were liquidated on centralized cryptocurrency exchanges in just one day.

On the previous day, Anthony Scaramucci, the founder of Skybridge Capital, advised investors not to shy away from purchasing Bitcoin, even if its price surpasses $50,000.
