Robert Kennedy Jr. pledges to uphold the right of U.S. citizens to own bitcoin

One of the U.S. presidential candidates, an active supporter of the world’s first cryptocurrency, said he would stand up for the right of citizens to freely own BTC.

“As president, I will ensure that your right to use and own bitcoins is inviolable,” proclaimed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. Kennedy Jr.) on Twitter.

The politician is accepting cryptocurrency donations for his political campaign.

“Bitcoin is not only a bulwark against totalitarianism and money manipulation, it points the way to a future where public institutions are more transparent and democratic,” the candidate writes.

Kennedy thinks bitcoin is the ideal base currency – in addition to its limited supply of 21 million coins, it has value for people because it gives them a chance to improve their financial situation even in times of crisis.

Kennedy Jr. criticized the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its bias against cryptocurrencies. The politician promised that if elected to the presidency, he would promote cryptocurrency-friendly staff to the SEC. According to the candidate, the agency does not even seek to clarify the rules for regulating the crypto industry.

The candidate calls the first cryptocurrency an example of democracy and promises to protect the rights of bitcoin owners and miners if he is elected as the next president of the United States.
