Another XRP Glitch Pops up on Leading Exchange

Another XRP Glitch Emerges on Leading Exchange

A new XRP glitch has been discovered on the popular crypto exchange Crypto.com, but this time it involves a rendering issue instead of a price error.

This glitch comes at a time when the crypto market is struggling. XRP, like many other cryptocurrencies, has been caught in the battle between bears and bulls, resulting in a drop below the significant $0.50 support level during the recent market downturn.

Currently trading at around $0.47, XRP would need a strong market uptrend to reclaim $0.50 as support. In times of volatility, some XRP supporters find comfort in optimistic price predictions, with a few even suggesting values as high as $27 or $66.

Many analysts argue that XRP is highly undervalued due to years of price suppression. Some community members see the recurring glitches as proof that the current price does not reflect XRP’s true value.

However, this latest glitch deviates from the usual pattern. Edoardo Farina, an influential member of the XRP community, recently drew attention to a glitch on Crypto.com that affected XRP.

The glitch did not impact XRP’s price, which was trading at its normal market value of €0.45 ($0.48) at the time. Instead, the issue was with the rendering of XRP’s ticker on Crypto.com’s XRP market page. Users saw “XRP” instead of the usual symbol.

This issue was likely a result of a rendering or encoding problem, potentially caused by an error in the HTML, CSS, or JavaScript that handles the ticker symbol, or a bug in the templating engine or backend system that generates the page content.

Fortunately, the glitch was a minor coding bug and did not impact any trading activity or market data. Despite its insignificance, the XRP community highlighted the glitch, questioning why such issues mostly seem to affect XRP. The Crypto.com team has already resolved the issue.

This latest glitch is different from previous ones, which often involved price fluctuations.

For example, XRP surged to $70 on Atlantis, a lesser-known exchange, in March. In October of last year, the XRP community discovered price glitches on CoinMarketCap that falsely showed XRP at $34,602, while its actual value was $0.56.

Another notable incident occurred in August when XRP experienced a price surge to $50 on Gemini shortly after the U.S.-based platform listed it. This surge, attributed to low liquidity and a limited order book, resulted in a price increase of 7,836% from its previous level.
