Automaker BMW creates a loyalty program on the blockchain

The German company BMW intends to introduce blockchain into its daily work, in particular, by launching a loyalty program for its customers in Thailand.. The automaker has hired blockchain infrastructure developer Coinweb as a decentralized architecture provider, and BMW will use the BNB network to settle transactions. The company is integrating blockchain in two phases: first, it will be used to automate complex manual processes and streamline the company’s car finance services.. In the second phase, Coinweb will develop a custom Web3 application with a loyalty program for BMW customers. The application should use a reward system to incentivize BMW Group customers – the program will determine the level and status of the customer in the ecosystem in order to give out rewards that customers can receive by performing any actions. According to Coinweb CEO Toby Gilbert, BMW customers will be rewarded every time they interact with the ecosystem.. It can be buying a new car, applying for any service.. Global rollout of the system, Gilbert says, will take place at a later date, but for now it will be tested on clients in Thailand. Earlier, Nvidia published a forecast that in 2023, many automotive companies will use the metaverse in their work.
