Elon Musk Issues Stunning AI Prediction For Next Year, Hold Tight

Elon Musk Makes Bold Prediction About AI in the Upcoming Year

During a recent virtual session on the X social media platform, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of X, made a groundbreaking statement regarding the future of artificial intelligence (AI). Musk boldly predicted that AI will surpass human intelligence by the end of next year, signaling a significant milestone in technological advancement.

Musk emphasized the rapid development of AI, describing it as the fastest-growing technology he has witnessed throughout his lifetime. He noted that new AI hardware is consistently entering the market every six to nine months, accompanied by major announcements and advancements in the field.

In addition to sharing his forecast for AI’s growth, Musk also discussed a rivalry between his AI chatbot, Grok AI, and OpenAI’s flagship product, ChatGPT. He revealed that Grok AI is currently undergoing training for a new iteration, Grok 2.0, which he believes will outperform OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4 once the training is complete in May.

Interestingly, it was recently reported that using Grok AI on the X app is significantly cheaper than a monthly subscription to ChatGPT. Grok AI is already 60% cheaper per month, requiring only an $8 monthly subscription fee for X Premium, while ChatGPT-4 costs $20 per month.

Elon Musk’s involvement with AI extends beyond Grok AI. He co-founded OpenAI in 2015, initially supporting the company financially. However, disagreements arose regarding the company’s strategic direction, leading Musk to part ways with OpenAI. The organization later transitioned into a for-profit entity through a strategic partnership with Microsoft.

While Musk’s prediction about AI surpassing human intelligence may seem ambitious, it reflects his ongoing commitment and fascination with pushing the boundaries of technology. Meanwhile, renowned writer Stephen King, who has previously expressed concerns about AI, has not shared his views on Musk’s recent prediction.
