Flying Sheep Studios Raises $1.2M for Blockchain Game Star Life

Flying Sheep Studios, a German startup, has just announced that it has received a sizable $1.2 million investment from the government to fund the creation of their upcoming game, Star Life, set in a virtual universe.

With this funding, the company has been able to expand its workforce, enabling them to fast-track the game’s development.

Managing Director Thomas Rossig expressed his gratitude for the government’s support, saying that it’s vital for the advancement of the metaverse and blockchain gaming industry.

Rossig added, “This funding demonstrates the effectiveness of the federal budget in contributing to Germany’s technical know-how and progress.”

Star Life is said to prioritize cooperation and communication among players, with the metaverse as the backdrop for the game’s events.

The game will integrate blockchain and NFT elements, and it is promised to be free-to-play.

Lego, the Danish toy company, has recently announced its own virtual world with the backing of gaming industry powerhouse Epic Games, creators of Fortnite.

In March, it was revealed that the release of NFTs in the zombie apocalypse metaverse Undeads was successful in attracting major collectors of non-fungible tokens, including n0b0dy.eth. The Web3 game’s release is scheduled for the end of the year.
