  • They plan to open a representative office in the region
  • And hire a staff of 100 people

Krypto-exchange OKX has applied in France to become a digital asset service provider (DASP).

The documents will be reviewed by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers and the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR).

The plans indicate that the company will open a regional center in France and hire 100 new employees over the next 3 years.

74 crypto-firms have already been registered in this country. Binance opened an office in Paris last year and hired 150 employees.

According to OKX representatives, it will take about 6 months to process the license. Next, the company will begin hiring staff. This year, they plan to hire 30 specialists.

It should be noted that France is a member state of the European Union. Last month, the EU passed the Crypto Asset Markets Act (MiCA).

This means that cryptocurrencies that have received approval in one country will open in other countries of the Eurozone under a simplified procedure. But first they have to be verified by the MiCA.

Last month the French regulator AMF put forward the idea of automatically transferring all companies that already have documents in the country to MiCA.

The OKX exchange is gradually expanding its presence around the world.

Last month they applied for registration in Hong Kong and opened an office there.. In doing so, the company has tightened some KYC requirements.
